Express yourself with Expressions wall art

Expressions is our new series of wooden wall art that combines Marlene’s bright and cheerful painting with intricate cutting and friendly messages.

Freedom (EX01, 141/2 x 41/2 ) and USA (EX03, 41/2 x 23/4) were Marlene’s first designs for this new line, and she went all out. The letters have a flag background, and she has decorated them with a scattering of stars and American icons such as Lady Liberty, Uncle Sam’s hat and the Liberty Bell.

The patriotic theme continues with God Bless and Mom’s Apple Pie.

With its classic country colors and wind-blown look, God Bless (EX05, 111/2 x 101/4) will brighten any wall. 

Mom’s Apple Pie (EX07, 16 x 10) is our new kitchen design that celebrates the USA’s sweetest institution and the baking skills of the woman of the house. It’s a great gift for mom or grandma.

Marlene has created two other kitchen signs for your enjoyment.

Even if you slept late and no one else is home, you’ll get a cheerful greeting and a cup of java if our Good Morning (EX09, 15 x 101/2 ) rooster is on your wall.

Good Eats (EX15, 153/4 x 93/4 ) features a row of Williamsburg period establishments and announces the mouth-watering fare available in your own kitchen.

Two designs welcome visitors to your home.

Welcome (EX29, 123/4  x 101/2) is the most “Marlene” of the Expressions series, as it features one of her cozy houses with an inviting garden and a proudly flying flag.

My Garden Welcome (EX11, 121/2  x 101/2) celebrates Marlene and Donna’s love of a garden full of flowers, birds and bees. Together they designed a sign that’s perfect for the neighborhood “Doyenne of Dirt” who always wins the Yard of the Month competition.

Eons ago, one of Marlene’s first products was a simple slice of watermelon. She handpainted scads of them in her first studio (the kitchen table) to meet the surprising demand. For 2002, she has revisited the subject with Ice Cold (EX27, 16 x 7), an inviting slice of watermelon glistening with moisture and cool letters. Hang this one up to drop the temperature in any room of the house.

Quilts (EX17, 10 x 141/2) comes in two versions, calicos or solid colors, and advertises a passion for things country. Whether you quilt them yourself or collect those made by others, this piece of wall art complements any quilt collection or sewing room.

Children keep growing, but each night Mommy still wishes them Sweet Dreams (EX24, 151/4 x 71/4), as her mom did before her. Our version of this universal sentiment comes in three color schemes and is equally at home in the nursery or guest room.
